Integers

The way to do integers is you do the opposite to the number like 5 on a numer line. The integer of that is mines five so pretty much the interger is the opposite of the number.

EXAMPLE

5 interger -5

23 interger -23

Equations

The way to do equations like 2+b=4 is you do opposite operations on b and 4 so b-2 =o and 4-2=2 so you know your answer is two.

6-e=3

0=9

answer 9

Check

6-e=3

6-9=3

3=3

9=e

The way to do check is write down the problem than on the next line you write your answer were the equation was. Then if it is correct you write the answer with a equal sign next to the answer . Then you say the variable =the answer to the variable.

Hints

One hint in writing equations is to make sure all the = signs are lined up. Another hint is when doing multiplication you have to keep the signs and answers on one line and all together you have two lines.

Factors and GCF

Factors are a set of numbers that can be divided in to a certain number.

Example: the factors of 36 are,1,36,2,18,3,12,4,9,6,

The way to find factors are seeing if a number divides into it and if it gives you a whole number that is you first answer for that factor.The number you get is your next factor.

To find the greatest common factor you must list all factors of each number and find the greatest number they have in common.

Exponets and Sientific notation

The way to do the exponents is you put a period after the first number. Then if there is numbers that are not zeros you take those numbers until a zero. Last you do that number times ten and how many spaces you moved after the first number.

5.5.108

There are two main vocabulary base and exponent the base is the ten and the little number on top next to the base.
